    Water Heater Gun Safe.

Just to get it out of the way. I am a senior in high school and will be building this safe in Weld Tech class for a class assignment. I won't be starting this project for a another week or so due to shop safety review. Now that that is out of the way, we replaced the water heater I'm my old house and the old one is 5' tall and 2' in diameter. My dad has been wanting a gun safe for awhile and loves repurposed stuff like this so i will be giving it to him when I'm done as a surprise.

I want to start this thread now incase some of yall had any tips or advice.

That's a great idea! What about building a round gun rack that spins around, like a lazy susan or an old sunglass carousel? That way you could store the maximum number of guns without having to reach all the way in the back, in the dark, to get the one you want. Have fun building it and show us lots of pics along the way.

I'm thinking the rotating style will make the most since too.

Some LED rope lights and a dehumidifier rod would be cool.
You may think of doing magnetic locks to keep it slick looking.

                Post pics of the build!

I think it would be cool if you made it look like any old water heater even hook it up to fake pipes. Adds another layer of security as well since no one would want to break into a water heater
