We caught up to an old 10pt on 11/25/17.
My daughter named this buck last year “Mr. Krabbs” (From the cartoon Spongebob Squarepants). Lol
He was #1 on the hit list this year. He’s been hanging around since 2014 and became a major feeder hog last season.
We rolled into the lease that Saturday for an evening hunt. We were running a little late but managed to get in quick to my spot called “Pump Jack” and corned up the road real good up to 100 yards.
Soon we had deer filtering into the road feed and about an hour later I got a glimpse of her buck making his way down into the draw. I didn’t want her to get buck fever too soon so I waited till he got into the draw before I said he’s here. I however, was shaking with so much excitement that I could barely keep the bino’s on him. Lol
He started making his way to the road were the doe were and that’s when I told her to get ready.
He stopped at 86 yards and stood perfectly broadside. Big mistake on his part....I was watching in the bino’s as the 308 went off. She hammered him and dropped him in his tracks.
It’s was a great moment we shared with high fives and a big ole hug as he was down for the count. She was beyond excited.
I am so proud of her and always thankful for the times we get to hunt together.
