Yes, but GW Lodge is perfect for an 8yr old. You can sit and drink beer while the kid runs around and then you hit the buffet and flop in bed. It’s a must at least once. And easy on you and the ol lady.

If you are wanting to take him to a water park Great Wolf Lodge would be the best place. Indoor water park incase it’s too cold and it’s awesome. Sea World maybe, I think Schliterbaun in Galveston has an indoor park too.
