The Nolan in Blum is also up several feet, so the water is flowing to Whitney!

Razorback, I may have to take a trip up the Nolan to the bluffs to see if the sandies are in there then. Course, any of the feeder creeks on the lake that have running water, will have sandies in them.

I would guess that they are in the water.

A lake is 1.46 feet above normal. It's come up over 2.11 feet in the last 24 hours as of this posting.

W lake is doing better. But still 3.47 feet below normal. It's come up a foot since the rain started.

Looking like Sunday may be a day to get the boat out. Wonder how the fishing will be right after all this rain.

Lotta projects on the Brazos River Valley still lacking a lot of rain. Still well below the norm. The Trinity River valley and Red River valley projects are doing very well. Brazos, Guadalupe, and Colorado river systems still need a lot more rain to become healthy again.

Any of y’all out today? How’s the water looking? Planning to head back for a couple days to take a break from the city. Trying to get the city place ready to sell has got me stressed out.

Water is slightly stained and trashy. It's also come up some. Perfect for catfishing!

Still working on my boat. New graphs and rewire a couple weeks ago, put a standard fuel pump (no more VRO) this past weekend along with a keel guard. Water pump and ignition switch this weekend. I need to get it into the shop next week, idle is too high and I can't figure out why.

Grandbury has had the gates closed most of the week. Glenrose gauge still shows water level dropping. But Grandbury just opened one a little bit this morning. With no more than they are letting out, it'll prob take two days to reach Whitney. Nolan gauge shows to be dropping still. Whitney lake is showing to be holding almost steady the last 24 hours. Aquilla has been dropping. But is still a foot above normal. With the weather we have had, Crappie should be doing well on Aquilla. And moving up for the spawn.

Just a few keepers. And some dinks. Gotta replace my impeller. So I couldn't get around like I wanted. Most fish were caught trolling, which is something I don't normally do. Water temp was 61 when I started. And got up to 69 before the day was over. Fish were scattered. Only got 1 fish from one of my regular holes. Via reason for trolling.

The fish are biting, and there's hogs to be kilt. Gotta go!

Go to Around the Campfire forum. And there is a sticky at the top of the page that will give info on where and when. We have it every year about this time. It's the mother of all TBH happy hours and get-2-gethers. There's a meet and greet the night before, kinda like a pre-party party. Then we get up in the morning and head to the park to cook, meet new folks, see old freinds, play music, and have some good times. If you staying at the hotel, the party is usually carried over to there afterwards.

Hey razorback, yep still at spinks. Just been busy with kids and all, not much time to post. That helo flew all day, wore me out. He was testing his lifting ability, kept picking up water and dropping it from a 680 gallon bag. Lots of weight.

That's how it worked for me TG, stayed at Kimball bend for a few days. Went up river past Hamm, only caught sandies and one large mouth trolling. Same at the mouth of Nolan river. They just seem to be scattered.

Crappie were good under a light at night though.

Razorback, what did you use to calculate as a gallon of water? I've always used a simple rule of 8lbs per gallon for back packing and bike riding. But 680 is still a lot of weight.

Just as I thought. ACE shut the Grandbury gates today. Last 3 weekends they open on Friday and close on Monday. So that the river current, and clarity, is inconsistent. I will say that it would be good fishing below the dam on the weekend if they keep that up.
