    Most Accurate AR

I want to build an good accurate AR. I'm thinking of building it in .224 Valkyrie.

With the huge amount of info out there I was hoping to get your experiences with what components to get the best bang for the buck.

Would like to keep the build under $1500 and would love 1/2-3/4 MOA but will take sub MOA for the right price

Define your accuracy needs. If you’ll be happy with something close to or slightly over 1 MOA, go with a quality match barrel, BCG, and trigger, the rest of the stuff is less important.

If you want I “one ragged hole” gun, none of what I’d consider to be the top tier barrel manufactures are chambers HG their barrels for .224 Valkyrie yet.

Also, that budget is probably going to be tough unless you’ve already got some parts or aren’t including an optic. Accurate AR’s cost significantly more than bolt guns.

I wanted to build a better than average carbine, but nothing top tier, and I spent about $1,100.

        Components you can't skimp on.

        Trigger.......Geissele IMHO
Barrel........Depends on caliber in the 6.5 Grendel I like Satern
Upper Receiver.........many good ones in this.
Adj Gas Block.......currently I like the Superlative Arms Adjustable as they fit under the handguard free floating.

Components you can save on but do not go cheap

        Buttstock.....Magpul
Handguard.......I love Midwest Industries 3GM Series
BCG.....DPMS is what I normally get because it is usually in stock.

Components that you can go cheaper on
LPK (you are replacing the trigger)
        and most everything else

Key to accuracy is assembling. I am filming me putting together my fathers right now and will post what I do to squeak out accuracy.

Wait a bit. LaRue has stated that they are going to start offering the 224 in the UU kits.

Well I have a UU kit/ full LaRue build in 223 and I'm still playing with what ammo it likes but so far about 1"-1.25" is about as good as it will do. I just put a higher magnification scope on it so I can see to shoot distances with but haven't tested it yet.

Barrel. This is the single most important choice
              Larue
              Kreiger
              Lothar Walther
              AR Performance
              White oak armory

Get a matching bolt. I don't know if it really makes a difference but it can't hurt

              Trigger.
              Geisselie
              Larue MBT

              Magpul UBR stock

              The rest. . . . . . Just Gucci stuff

I think your budget is going to be low for a true 1/2 to 3/4 MOA gas gun.

I'd build it in grendel and load Lapua brass if I was hunting that type of accuracy.

6.5 Grendel with a heavy and long Krieger barrel. The end.

I just built an upper to these specs in 6.5 Grendel.

                            Upper alone was $1200
