Where can I get live bait around lake Somerville? I'm going for cats and can't find anyone with live shad

I can get you dead crawfish if you want. Just depends on when you are going. Plus, there is the Bait Barn in Bryan off HWY 21 if you want some live bait. Not too far out of your way.

Just in case you don't get any shad take some garlic soaked chicken breast as backup. I use the minced garlic put powder will do. Soak it overnite in the fridge. Cut in in chunks 1-1/2 or so. I use 8/0 circle or octopus hooks. Big Blue cats bite it as good as cut buffalo. Catfish like garlic. I use lots of it in my homemade Catfish Cocaine dough bait. They really get hooked on it.
