Default New Leaser Funny Conversation

So this weekend I met one of the new hunters on a my property.
Husband and wife. Shes a Bow Hunter and he is only a gun hunter.

I asked her if was seeing anything and the conversation went like this.

M:Seeing anything?

H:No. But I heard 2 does in the brush tonight.

M:What?

H:Yes, I heard 2 does in the brush tonight. They are getting used to me and getting close to accepting me. This is the first step in bow hunting. The Does must accept you as one of their own and only then will they allow you harvest one. If I choose to. But I will wait so that they will allow the bucks to come and then I will harvest a buck.

M: Ummm. OK... So, once you get accepted then you will kill one?

H: NO.. HARVEST..We cultivate a relationship. Then I harvest. Like a crop.

M: Sounds like you have this worked out good luck...

The next morning I see the husband and ask about the wife and he comes running over to me and says.

"Today is a good day. My wife says I am to come get her at noon. No sooner because the she can hear 2 bucks in the brush around her. That the does accepted her last night and today the bucks are starting to accept her. She will not kill one as these are the young bucks."

I wished them luck and drove off. Maybe this is reason I have not killed a B&C Buck maybe I just need them to accept me, love me and work to cultivate a better relationship with them.

Sounds like a hippie turned hunter but hey... at least they're out hunting.

That's pretty funny!

Wow…funny story. Keep us posted, should be interesting.

With all we feed them they they should love us and sacrifice their own, field dress, cut and wrap, and put their buddies in the freezer for me.

I can’t believe you didn’t keep this secret to yourself. Maybe you should repay them by letting them in on the pea gravel trick.

They are Hispanic from McAllen. The Ladies dad is the money guy for their group. He seems "normal" but I just keep shaking my head with this one.

When they first got on they built a feed pen that was not much larger than the legs on their feeder. Well the cows came up and just cleaned them out. The husband reached out to the land owner and asked about getting their money back. Because the cows were not respecting their stuff.
I called and explained that first they need to call their money guy and discuss with him.
Then the ranch owners numbers that are posted are for EMERGENCY ONLY. That cows eating corn was not an emergency.

I am sure she will kill a monster.

they both will. That's how it goes sometimes. I'd have to give those folks their money back and send them down the road.
