Weekend of Firsts for me.

This is my 3rd season deer hunting and on this lease.

This is my first time here by myself. Yeah me I know.
My hunting buddy left me the keys to his pickup and the keys to his camper so I'd be able to hunt this weekend.
I've only got 1 vehicle, wife needed it.

I've been apprehensive and anxious. Mainly the what if's and did I bring the right crap. If you've read some of my previous posts about this you'll understand.

Anyways 99.9% of my hunting has been out of a pop-up.
Last time here I hunted it off a tank blind.
Tonight I'm in a box blind my hunting buddy built on a boat trailer.
It's carpeted as has a Dearborn Heater and shelves to shoot from. [emoji106][emoji106]

I dressed warm cause it's cold out. Already removed outer layer.

This could spoil from ever hunting from a pop-up again.

He has said that this blind ain't so great in the summer cause it gets hot in here...

Anyways I'm 24 minutes into my first hunt out of a box blind and I'm enjoying it.

First pic is the feeder to my South. 311 yds
Saw 4 deer under there this am.

Second pic is the feeder to the North. 290 yds.
Got lots of pics of pigs in the evening.

Hoping my 300 wsm can make it :-)

Yup. I've always bow hunted. A buddy invited me to his place for audad, he said rifle only. Okay, so he put me in a box blind.....warm...didn't have to worry about sound or sudden movements, was able to drink beer, had room to lay down and take a nap...

In the first pic or both bound it's the left of the feeder.

Second pic the ladder are stand is in the big tree to the right of the feeder. It's 11 yds.

Just the scope on my rifle. It's a cheap 6-24x50. Over about 13x it gets milky.
Trying to get the money saved for a Nightforce.
Wife says we need another car before that happens....

I have the gun on a shooting bag. First time using one, not sure how I feel about using it, come if the scope after watching them. Looked out window and there was a big fat deer at 30 yds.
Twisted an turned to get the gun on I. It was a 4 pt.
I'm after a big big buck or the 3 yo core horn spike, doe and pigs.

Hoping for pigs. I think they're funner to shoot....
