You are correct, my friend. Lol
Thanks. Im trying not to get too excited in case he leaves or gets ran off. Hes avoiding all the deer....Definitely a loaner.

Im looking forward to what you and your crew kills again this year as well.

Looking at those past yrs pics gives me a little hope tho. I can def see where you would have thought 4.5 on some of those pics.

Heres a few new recent pics of Ghost. Hell probably be hard horn pretty soon.

Its hard getting good pictures of him. Hes hanging around in the background or skirting the feed pen for the most part.

Im getting him figured out more and more as the weeks go by and am working on a game plan.

Hes having a hard time getting in edge wise for corn so I ran the tail gate feeder all around the feed pen and into the corn feeder area and dropped some rice bran out.
So really, hoping I can get him hooked on the road feed more from here to bow season. Hes showing up on camera late mornings and super early in the evenings. Maybe hell feel comfortable enough to come in early before the bucks start showing up if theres a lot of corn on the ground.

Its crazy green on us right now. Ghost and most bucks have really slowed down on alfalfa and protein. Ive been keeping the protein going just for him but he didnt mess with it at all this go around...Just a little on the Alfalfa from time to time.

It may be a rodeo with him but Im getting really excited at the thought of the chase and finally getting to see him in person. Im more intrigued with him now more than ever.

I can really see his old, old age now more and more with each new series of pics.

This is pure gold in aging from pictures or on the hoof IMO. Thank you so much for posting this. Seeing the same attributes in the OP’s buck just helps send the message.

Bone Thug, really looking forward to following the chase. I enjoyed reading your thread last year. This old monarch will be a heck of a trophy.

I have one this year I cant get a good age on..I'm going back and forth between "4" and ancient.

Thanks.

Hes still hanging around. He is on the Alfalfa and rice bran pretty good so far. Hoping nothing changes on him when they all go hard horn. Hes real close to losing his velvet it looks. Should be any day now.

Man, unless you're feeding Viagra, maybe he won't run off chasing this year and you can bust him.

Crazy how his body is clearly withering away but he hasn't lost much in antler.

Good luck.

So far so good. He’s really consistent right now...Especially, in the evening times. It may be a rodeo for a morning hunt though. He skips some mornings throw times but shows up late morning after most deer have left. Sure hoping this pattern stays with him.

It’s looking like Ghost is hanging around for most of the day at random times till the other bucks start showing up.

It’s been pretty cool getting to know him better this year and getting an idea of his personality. He’s definitely taking advantage of the feed there while the other bucks are away and spending more time in the pasture.

Hes still hard horn as of yesterday. I was kinda thinking he would have lost it by now. But its not uncommon for them to keep it this long in our area. Most will be hard horn by this coming week.

Be cool if he keeps it on for a few more weeks or so, though. Lol

He loves him some Rice Bran. Heres some recent pics.....
