Heck yeah! So ready for post spawn summertime fishing!! Sitting here boatless watching all the lakes rise. Should be on Millwood in a couple weeks. Hopefully it settles by then!!
Don't overthink the bass fishing on Sam. All a man really needs is a decent setup and a bag of senkos, flukes or trick worms of the watermelon persuasion and he'll catch fish.
The males are biting on conroe! 66 between 3 guys yesterday. Over 100 this week total! hopefully the big females will pull up soon after the rain stops!

Couldn’t find any of these brands at academy in Beaumont today. But here’s what I bought I’m hoping they will work. What you think?
That should get you started! None of the Plastics I listed are sold at academy. Bonehead is in a few walmarts. You can order them all online though. Bonehead grapevine slim sticks or stump bugs would be worth ordering to stick on those pink heads IMO. Or thermocline purple passion.

I know em all so usually buy face to face but have occasionally ordered from Lane Palmer with constant pursuit online. Bonehead is in Whitehouse so I could see Josh quicker than I could order online and wait for it to ship! Same goes for Todd at Thermocline.

Getting closer! Not going to Millwood this weekend. It's gonna be closed. Heading to meet some buddies at Fork I guess! That or go fish skinny water on Stine.
Any advice on catching crappie on Rayburn this time of the year?
I have never attempted to fish for crappie, and my FIL is really wanting to go. Any advice is appreciated.
I would try the backs of creeks with minnows close to the banks in 2-3 feet of water. If that don't work start easing out of the creeks strolling road runners behind the boat while bump trolling with the trolling motor on low. 6-8 feet of water. If that don't work look for points with brush or stumps in 10-12 feet of water with a slip cork and minnow about 8 feet down. North end of lake above 147 bridge was off color last weekend.
