Slew catches more fish than most of us. So I'd do what he does!
I only throw braid, 10lb braid for fresh, 15lb braid on my salt reels.
Just got two awesome old crappie poles from my grandma! Can't wait to get them set up! They are the old two piece collapsible 10ft poles with a small built in spool at the bottom for adjusting line length. Gonna whoop them spring sacs!

Well that might be it too. Anytime I spool a spinning reel I will unspool it 50/60 yards or so behind the boat as I'm idling out of the marina to let it uncoil then reel it in. Never fish with it until I do this. Even the 6lb line acts up until you do this!![emoji106]
