      Pondguys.com had some stuff called shoreline defense that i bought and used. Worked great for me.

        Thanks for all of the help guys. Just got my son and 2 grandsons to "volunteer" and go help me Saturday. I'll keep you updated on how this particular product worked.

                  We burned them, then new growth we spray w/Aquatic Roundup. Less and less come back. We stay on top of that so as to not get out of hand again.

                    This. I work for a wetland management company. We use Roundup Custom on cattails and don’t have any problems killing what gets sprayed. Put your waders on and make sure all surfaces of the plants get hit.

                    Cattails are nasty. They will resprout for a while but you will kill them off eventually.
