My first time taking an elevated shot was at the only legal deer I saw this year, shot just over him but man is it a rush! Awesome that your first animal was a 9 point. Mine was a ground squirrel. Hooked ever since.

I'll make you feel better. I missed a 150" 10 pt drop tine buck this year at 10 yrds. No I didn't pick a spot and yes I sailed it about 3 inches over his back!!! Talk about frustrating!!
