    Photography Classes

I only click the big button and put the pics on the computer. Anyone familiar with any photography classes you can take in the Houston area? Looking to get more familiar with my camera.

    Thanks,
    Blake

The school at Rice has a lot to offer from the basics to the very advanced. LINK

What are you looking to learn and what type of camera do you have?

An easy way to improve your photography is learn what makes a "good" picture and there are several good books you can get to help on framing the picture.

If you have DSLR and what to learn more about the camera try getting the Blue Crane Digital book for your camera.

Ask some more question and I will be glad to help you out.

        Honestly,
Read this book before you take a class.

If you find some classes send me a PM. I would be interested also. I have a nikon D40 and just use the auto feature. Would love to know how to really use it.

                Start with this guy LINK.

The book will teach you how to take it off of AUTO. The only time my camera goes to auto is when I hand it to someone else. Av is about the only mode I shoot it. It will just take some practice.

A third for picking up understanding exposure. It's helped me alot with figuring out how to use my camera. It's now a rare occasion for my camera to come off of full manual mode unless I'm handing it to someone else. Even then I'll generally get the exposure set and the picture framed before I hand it off.

This domain may be for sale!

I've taken a class related to photography here from Kathy Adams Clark. I think it would be money and time well spent for you.

I agree with Hillary on the "Understanding Exposure" book but I also suggest this book.

Scott Kelby is an awesome teacher and he explains it so well. I also suggest going to his
training website and sign up for one of his courses.
