    6.5 Creedmoor

Is the 6.5 creedmoor a good deer caliber out to 250 yrds ?

The 6.5 Creedmoor is arguably the most popular rifle cartridge of the 21st century, but how does it perform on big game? These detailed accounts include pertinent information such as shot angle, distance, projectile used and more.

Its a good caliber to 400+

My 140 gr BT load still carries 1000 ft lbs of energy at 660 yards

OK now I have a question for all you X-sperts, how is the 6.5 Creedmore suited for a 12 YO as compared to say a .243???

Similar recoil. Better terminal performance from the 6.5

Extremely similar ballistics, less recoil on the 6.5

Not sure about a 12YO. I know it kicks less than my preferred caliber, .270.

the 243 is almost a ballistic twin of the 6mm creedmoor, which is just a necked down 6.5 creedmoor. The 6.5 hits harder and has slightly more recoil, but not so much a youth shooter would be uncomfortable.
