    Ragdoll test for seed

I had some oats from last year that had been in hot garage all summer so I wanted to make sure they were still good. Did what is called a ragdoll test which is super easy Oats had near 100% germination after 4 days

How did u store your seeds. I keep small bags like chicory in dry ice chests, others in the barn where the mice get their share darn mice

It's just a very basic test to check germination of seeds. Basically a good way to tell if your old or leftover seed from past years will grow at all. The paper towel holds moisture to allow the seed to germinate (if it's viable seed). Here is what I went by. Very easy.

I did 4 different seeds so I decided to do each in a separate towel.

My seed was in a paper sack from the seed store, but I put it in a ziplock bag and removed all the air I could before sealing it. Then left it in garage on my top tool shelf. I almost used my Foodsaver to vacuum seal it. I assumed that would be better but. Didn't go that route and this worked fine obviously.
