    Found some baby rabbits

Cleaning up the landscaping in the backyard is a pain! But while I was pulling up some old plants getting the ground prepped to put some new ones in, I heard a strange little noise underneath my feet. I used the rake to slowly pull some dead grass away when I found a ball of fur. Getting a little closer to the ground and carefully moving the fur and grass out of the way, I saw some little furry rabbits moving around in a shallow hole in the old mulch. Looks to be about 3 or 4 of them and they have their eyes closed.

Now here are the questions my wife has:
Will they survive there if I just cover them back up?
Will momma rabbit still come back to care for them?

And the question I KNOW my little girl will ask when she gets home...can we feed/raise them as pets?

Any rabbit info provided will be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Cover them back up and let momma do her job.

DO NOT show your daughter unless you want pet rabbits

I found some one time......with the lawnmower. Pretty nasty.

I remember catching one when I was little and trying to raise it and it wouldn't eat anything, ended up dying. But I am sure there is a lot more info out there these days.

Yes, cover them back up and they will be fine. The mother will come back. She may move them. It's probably too soon to raise them as pets because they still need their mothers milk. One that is running out and about and still small would make a better pet. I'm not sure how old they wean.

If momma doesn't show up tonight then something happened. Hopefully your scent didn't run her off. If needed I can pick them up. My wife rehabs and raises rescue animals. We are not far from you

Agree. Share them with your dog, for crying out loud.

My dog found one and all I found was a back leg on the patio. I guess he ate the rest.

Rabbit nests can look like a little dead patch of grass in the yard. Just cover it back up and momma will come back.
