    This will be epic.

I've been dying to return to that area with my camera since our hunt there in '07. We hunted the ranch that the Giant was filmed on.

    Davis Mountain Speed Goats

I took these with a simple point and shoot.... I can't imagine what real photogs will produce.

    I can't wait to see...

Just got off the phone with Vanessa Martin of The Nature Conservancy and we are good to go an a photo safari of Mt. Livermore.

I guess we already were but it's nice to hear it again.

If you guys have the time and the inclination you may want to stop in on John Wells, he's doing some cool things in the desert out there:

Life off the grid in the SW Texas desert. An experiment in sustainable living. NUMBERS AT THE END OF EACH BLOG POST: temp at 8PM,high temp, low temp, rainfall, wind conditions(CalmBreezyWindyGusty). YouTube Channel https://www.youtube.com/c/TheFieldLab Daily live streams at https://www.youtube.com/thefieldlab/live

I know when I finally get to make another trip out west I'll be bringing him a 6 pack.

Sounds like a blast can't wait for the pixels.

                  looks like a winner!

I wonder what the dollar value of the photo equipment will be on that trip...

There are some cool stops to make in the Marfa area if you can get permission from The Chinati Foundation.

we took this route in 2010.....

Man, sounds like a good and fun time. I hope ya'll all take some pics of the same things with different point of views and style. I've never been past Lake Amistad but I know there are some really pretty views along that route. Considered going south through Rocksprings and Brackettville and take some pics at the Alamo Village?

                            Well played.

THe National Geographic Borderlands Tour mentioned it but I didn't take it seriously till I saw your link. Gracias!

I'm trying to decide if I should acquire any gear (rent or purchase) for this trip! Any suggestions?

I need a another 32 gig card mainly because I don't want to risk my one card failing.

Cameron just bought a new apple laptop today.

Casey got a new tripod and a go pro.

If we decide to hike Livermore, you might want to think about a camelback for water. They suggest we carry a gallon per person.
