    Pulling my hair out

I am to that age where I need to start figuring out what is our best route to go with our Social Security. Anyone know where to get good info, that is understandable, without spending a lot.

Are there any decent online calculators or such?

You can go to the social security web site. They have calculators.

I will start taking full social security when at 66.

Each year you wait after full retirement age increases your benefits I think 7.5%

Make an appointment with someone at the SS office. They can help guide you through it.

I have friends who both (hubby & wife) both took theirs at 62, banked it all, and when they hit full retirement age, paid it back to SS (keeping all the interest they had earned) and then took their full SS payment from then on.

Based on my expected longevity, I took mine at 62, but then I have a military retirement so it's not my sole source of income and I could afford to do so.
