All in at my house, too. My lifetime have-watched events are Super G and all speed skating disciplines. Also like the luge/skeleton.

I don't watch figure skating. It's not so much about all the gay dudes (bad enough), but I just don't like subjective judging as a method to determine winners and losers. I think it's amazing that skaters and gymnasts and divers can all do the things they can do. Those things make good entertainment exhibitions. But there's no way to actually determine who really "won". I like the sports that have a goal or a stopwatch or a verifiable target involved.

I caught a few minutes of women's hockey today.

Sweden 8, Korea 0

It wasn't anywhere near as close as the final score. Interesting that there's such a wide discrepancy in an elite event like the olympics.

I caught some of the figure skating last night. Add me to the list of people wondering why the skater that fell still beat skaters who did not. Seems like once you fall, you lose major points and that's the cost of skating outside your ability/nerves.

I still think that once you fall you need to get up and just get off the ice. But i know nothing about the sport. Just get tired of watching butt busters all night long.

Johnny Weir is making the skating much less enjoyable.

Iím with ya on that. I obviously donít know sh** about figure skating but that appeared to be a fix. I can understand factoring in level of difficulty but if you fall while attempting a maneuver maybe that move was beyond your capabilities and you sure shouldnít receive extra points for it IMO. Idk

Can we get a one on one snowboard match up between Chloe Kim and Shaun White? That young lady has "it". Congrats on the gold.

I love watching nearly any type of olympic event, but man, every freakin time I turn it on this year it's FIGURE SKATING. I can't watch it. I appreciate it takes a ton of skill and I certainly couldn't do it. Don't get me wrong, I know we all love watching dudes in see through mesh and bedazzled form fitting pants dancing to some pop music, but it's happened about 5 times so far and really takes the wind out of the sails. Wish they would break it down with more description in the guide IE 15 minute windows of figure skating, womens snowboarding halfpipe, mens moguls, cross country skiing, biathalon, etc.....

They keep teasing that Shaun White is going to hit the initial half pipe qualifying run tonight but if you look up the schedule, it says it all starts tomorrow.

I think they are stringing us along.

*edit

Looks like qualifying is about to go.

We've been watching. I agree that the figure skating is tough to watch, but as others have said...the wife wants to, so.....

I also do not like the snowboarding events. Talk about subjective judging.

I think that Aussie girl on the snowboarding last night may have knocked some teeth loose/out on that face plant. Her mouth didn't look quite right when she got up and turned around and you could see the blood starting.

Agreed.

Why anyone would participate without some sort of mouth guard is hard to understand.

Shaun White nearly scalped himself last October while wearing a helmet. Sixty two stitches later he's good to go.

I'll tune in just about every night. Was sort of annoyed over the weekend that there was no coverage going on during the day, etc. Was pretty lame. I remember back when there was always something going on.... but guess they hadn't queued up enough footage yet.

Oddly, I tend to just enjoy watching the female athletes perform. Not sure why... besides the obvious, I just think that in general, this is the only time you really get to see female athletes since professional sports are pretty much male dominated. Like for instance, I could care less about the Men's Super G... But will watch the women's Super G. The exception to this is hockey and short track/long track speed skating.

Nothing is cooler than watching women skiing their butts off, stopping, and shooting at targets, and skiing some more... bi-atholon is bad-*** - kinda boring to watch, but bad-*** none the less.
