And we've made laws with harsh penalties to curb & regulate this sort of behavior. Driving Under the Influence (DUI) isn't just tied to alcohol...it applies to operating a motor vehicle while impaired by alcohol or other drugs. Since 1982, drunk driving fatalities on our nationís roadways have decreased 51%, while total traffic fatalities have declined nearly 20%. Among persons under 21, drunk driving fatalities have decreased 80%. As penalties get stiffer for distracted driving I'm sure the use of devices while driving will go down as well.
