Yesssir. I was able to roll out of there about 1:15 this morning. It was a nice night. If I had to pick an evening to be stranded last night would have been it.

Anybody know what a SE wind at 10-15 does to Port O'connor. It actually shows up to 17mph winds for Friday. Hate fishing dirty water but plans are set.

My favorite wind. Snug that south shoreline, it'll get beautiful with a SE wind.

SE is much more favorable than a SW wind.

I will be putting in at Sargent Saturday due to oilmans tournament in matagorda. The harbor should be crazier than it normally is.

Glad you posted that, I forgot that was this weekend. I was planning to launch at the harbor early afternoon and fish until dark. I would have shown up to a mess, guess I’ll launch at the dike and hit G-Bay instead.

The harbor in Matagorda will only be super busy from like 5:00am to 7:00am. The rest of the time there will be folks coming and going but it won't be all that bad. Well, if you can drive your boat. The problem folks have is they can barely drive a boat, can't dock it worth a flip and adding a few other boaters wigs them all out.

At the same time if I didn't have to be on the water this weekend I wouldn't be on the water this weekend. It'll be all I can do to not have a major brain hemorrhage from all the stupidity that will be dropped on our poor little bay. I am guessing a minimum of 20 Blue Waves will cut off my drift, run over me, try to mark the spot I am fishing, etc. It should be a blast.

For those saying you can launch at Rawlings, you probably can but you need to know it's under new ownership. You might double check with the new folks before you drive down there. Jo Jo's in Palacios is now operating the bait camp. That just happened like yesterday or the day before.

I’m hoping that they are all weighing in and then drinking under a tent all evening and I will have some shoreline to myself.

Ive been telling my buddy from NC that I’d take him wading for a couple years now and we finally hit the full moon last night. He’d never caught a trout, and had only caught 1 rat red. He was able to change that with a 27” that went 6.5 on the bogas and a solid red. Needless to say, he’s hooked.

Nice ones!

I cooked up my half shells from Sunday and made a lemon, garlic, butter, lump crab sauce (to make it even more Keto compliant! )

Spent the evening breaking down a couple of reels for long overdue maintenance. Teased my wife about not remembering where all the parts go on her reel. She wasn’t amused!

So I've been planning a little 1 or 2 night trip out in the bay... depending on how it goes. Now that I've got my boat back I'm gonna give it a run...

Obviously tons of water, ice, and cold beer will be a must. I'll take extra water also for a quick bath in the evenings and extra wading clothes...I also have one of these. With the wind blowing shouldn't be bad at all. Plus I won't have to worry about those pesky mosquitoes.

Not sure how many of you watch Thresher Fishing on YouTube but got the idea from him.

I'll be stocked up on Jerky, sandwich markings and junk for breakfast.

Next time I'll being my little grill and cook in the evenings, but this time I'm just gonna see how it goes and what I'll need and won't need.

Weather looks awesome, I'll post pics throughout the journey depending on my signal. Fish on!
