I hope you have better luck with them than I did with their Rockport service department.

I took my Blazer Bay back to them 3 or 4 times for over heating. They calling me a liar and said I ran the engine dry.
The last time they said it was fixed I took the service manager out and, sure enough, as soon as we hit some chop the alarm goes off.

I had done some research to find out what the problem was and told them how to fix it. They did a crappy job of moving the water pick ups on the hull but at least it runs now.

I was going to go this morning but forgot to put my rods in the truck before I went to work. Pretty sure I’m giving it a shot in the morning.

5 man of solid trout and a handful of reds yesterday morning. South shore of west galvy. I’d upload a picture, but it never works for some reason.

Hoping high tide will bring in some cleaner water than what the cams look to be showing right now. It does look plenty calm though.

It’s a nasty bacteria, and I’d be lying if I said I didn’t think about it every time a trout gets me with a tooth or I poke myself with a hook. That said, the CDC estimates there are only around 200 cases a year of vibrio vilnificus a year, although there are other types and causes of “flesh eating bacteria”. Considering the tens of millions of people who get in the water each year, your kids will be in much more danger on the drive to the beach than when they actually get there. It enters the body through cuts and scrapes, or by eating contaminated seafood, and people with compromised immune systems are at the most risk. Water proof bandages over cuts and scrapes, and immediate and proper wound care of new injuries is the best preventative. Or of course keeping your kids out of the water if they have fresh wounds. If they get an injury, and it’s abnormally red or swollen, or if the pain level becomes more severe than would seem normal for the injury, see a doctor right away. The quicker treatment begins the better the prognosis for recovery.

The fact of the matter is this.... the most dangerous thing about your beach trip, is the car ride there. Enjoy the water, wash out fresh wounds with peroxide after getting out of the water.

Fishing in Corpus has been pretty good. Solid summer pattern. Early topwater culling 10 dinks for a keep and the occasional 6+ lbs mama. Limited out 3 times in a row now (sure do miss the 10 limit though...).
