I've got a bunch of extra steel laying around the ranch and I'm wanting to build my dad a tower. I'm wondering what angle should I put the legs at coming off the base of the stand. Any input or links should be appreciated.

It's been awhile since I built one but I'm thinking 12 degrees. The wider it is at the bottom the more sturdy it is and I don't have to stake mine down.Comment

rule of thumb is 1' out for 4' of height. or 4 to 1 ratio. this is 15 degrees (14.3 to be exact)Comment
