I've tried but my hand developes it's own brain, especially when it feels something slimy moving around in holes where my eyes can't see, I tell it to find something to grab, but it's already out of the hole yelling in my ear-SCREW THIS!

It's those water moccasins that'd be the worst. Turtles, muskrats and beavers wouldn't be too fun either. If you stick your hand in a hole and there's an air pocket in it,there ain't no fish in there.

What do you do if you stick your hand in a nest of water moccasins or a big snapping turtle?

Lets say you find a hole on the edge of the bank and you put your arm in. If your hand goes in and breaks the surface of the water, pull your hand back out. There's a snake, turtle or some mammal with sharp teeth in there.

I've just heard stories about it. There was a guy that got bit by a Water Moccasin several years ago down by Ada,Oklahoma while he was noodlin. The scariest thing about it is the possibility of drowning. A man drowned in Lake Eufala a while back after his arm got trapped in some concrete. He was noodlin under the old highway and nobody knew anything had happened until it was too late. I don't care about snakes, turtles or none of that. I have 10 fingers, just one life.

Got all these today, good ol tawakoni. Man it's not bad, the worst part is the anticipation of not knowing when your going to get bit. If you have a hole sticking straight up that there is shade under its a no go. You want a hole that is completely submerged to be safe

Is it a huge adrenalin rush cause that seems crazy to me. You need to video it next time. I think I'm too scared of snakes? Do you wear goggles or anything?

Never been brave enough to grab them, but I've speared/gigged a few. I'm not swimming around in water that I can't see my feet in! I have speared several at our camp with goggles and a frog gig. Just swim down and find the flatheads under rocks and in caves.

BTW, blues have been known to get out of their hole and come back to attack from behind. Getting bit on the side of the waist handles hurts like heck not to mention the surprise. I seen a buddy almost swallow his regulator from that.

Scuba, probably. An acquaintance on mine nearly drowned in Bull Shoals after spearing a big blue in a cave. Knocked his regulator our and broke his nose before he could back out. He did get the fish after the trouble!
