I have pretty much always been a Scotch guy, but I want to like Bourbon. I have struggled with some of the stuff y'all have posted. I decided I'd buy one more before giving up. I bought the Basil Hayden's. It is good.
I am probably going to ease back over to Scotch though.

Really have enjoyed this thread. I've tried several bourbons and whiskeys recommended here. I didn't see Larceny on here, but I picked up a bottle. Was pretty decent. Good value imo.

I think itís pretty clear I really like Rye whiskey. So I had to grab this guy. Talk about favor and complexity. Wow! This is may be the first I have ever tried that drank up! Ie. You would swear it was a barrel proof, but itís only 92 proof. This one certainly isnít for the faint of heart, but if you like a big Rye with piles of flavors, it doesnít disappoint.

Iíve contemplated grabbing the 10yr. I see it and the Lock Stock and Barrel 13 often.

Tonight itís mixing time. Iíve realized mixing in the yeti a 1.75 makes 12 solid drinks haha

Had to pull some stuff to make some room, so snapped a quick pic. Iíd say this is about 60% of the goods. Running out of room quick.

Anybody tried the High West Prairie Bourbon? Wanting to find a smaller (375ml) bottle for a kayak trip, and noticed all of the High West in 375ml bottles. Needs to be smooth enough to drink neat at room temp.

375ml of Eagle Rare would be a better choice, IMO.

I'd be curious to hear what you think on this: what is a 375 of eagle rare worth? I remember when it was 30 bucks at Hyvee (south Dakota) but it's been creeping to 40. I like it but that seems a little high.

In the past two weeks I’ve seen Eagle Rare 750s for as high as $80. That was at a place off of Kirby and Alabama here in Houston. Lowest I saw lately until today was $35 so I bought it at $35. Today I saw 4 750s for $26 and a handle for $52 all at the same store. I didn’t buy any because I already have a bottle but I’m kind of kicking myself for not grabbing that big bottle. PM me if you want to know where. I doubt they’ll be there for long.

I'm in south Dakota so wherever it is would be quote the drive for me! But I'm definitely keeping an eye out for sub 30. I like to have a bottle on hand. It is the sweet spot for price for quality for me. I like it on the rocks, and a bottle lasts me long enough to be worth it.

Chase This is being a bad influence on me. I am now sipping some of that Eagle Rare neat, and it's nice. This from a Scotch man. Neat is the key here.

You might be in trouble now. I was a Scotch guy that got hooked on bourbon by starting with Eagle Rare based on a buddy's recommendation. Now I buy as much bourbon as I do Scotch.

Just getting back from a business trip in Europe. Came home with Nikka from the Barrel and Talisker North 57. Bringing a Nikka and a Hibiki Master Select back for a friend.

Haven’t had much bourbon on the trip but the Islay scotch flowed freely! Ha!

Thanks guys. Ended up coming over to hang out with my grandma and she wanted to open one of his favorite Bordeaux bottles so we’re having that. She’s cracking me up and said, “he probably did this so he could go chase ol Barbie Bush, he’s always had such a crush on her”
