Default Hurricane in Houston?

Not another one

GFS is predicting a category 2 to hit the Texas coast near Houston next weekend. Hope it changes paths......

At this point, I'll keep my fingers crossed it is a tropical storm, gets over Houston in a day or so and makes its way up here. We need some RAIN!

While it is still a good ways out, anything is possible. I mean, look at the wild path Harvey took making landfall twice and the devastation it caused. I certainly hope that NEVER happens again, but we need to keep am eye on this. They are truly unpredictable. Just be prepared and watch the models as they come out

Truly unpredictable is correct. As others have pointed out, the GFS on its recent run has this one hitting the upper Texas coast as a cat 2 storm next weekend. It has been picking up on this system the past few days. It had Florida, then Alabama, next was New Orleans and now Texas.

The European says not gonna happen and shows hardly anything around the same time period. We are just going to have to give this one till the beginning of next week.

Quote from my guy.

Don稚 believe any forecast beyond a week.

Seriously. Model runs have been showing something developing for a few days now but every model run is completely different.

Some hit Texas some hot Florida some don稚 develop anything

Yessir. I understand. I only spew bs on college fb threads. These are models and can change but it's interesting another model has latched on to it. Will need some more runs of it showing up consistently to verify.. Johnny should be along soon to gives us more details and his current thinking on the possible evolution of this

I find it interesting that the local news hasn’t mentioned anything at all about it. After Harvey I’d expect any blip on the model to get attention from the local news.

A strong hurricane hitting Houston would not be good.

However a tropical storm that would bring rain to central Texas wouldn't be bad.

Latest GFS model run, has it coming in a little further south and slowing down when it comes inland. Still waiting on the Euro to agree.
