Default Trailer to cabin

I work for central frieght. They started selling off certain males and year models of trailers. This trailer was used for parts to repair another so the sub-frame and landing gear were removed. The trailer was then going to be scrapped. So I thought Iíd make an offer. $100 it was mine. Got a buddy with a low boy to help me haul it to the lease. Once in it spot, the work began. Insulated and sheeted the roof. Closed in the rear with a walk through door and window. Repaired the floor and dressed up the walls a bit so not to look so much like a trailer inside. Will have a loft and two sets of bunks. Wood stove for heat and window unit.
Here is what I have so far.

Looks very good. I have often thought about doing similar but using a refrigerated trailer. I just never got past the thinking part . Look forward to more pics.

Default Trailer to cabin

Well I got a little more done to cabin this Saturday. Running electrical off a generator. Installed a weather guard box and receptacle. Wired in an outlet and switch for a 4í double LED light. By the way that dude is bright. Made some hat/coat hangers from horse shoes and hung a few mounts to dress up a little. The antlers over the door were from the first buck taken off this place 22 yrs ago.

Now for beds, table and to run the exhaust for wood stove and we should be ready for deer season.

Used z purlins. Set one side lower than the other. Drilled holes through the side post and top rail and ran carriage bolts(5/16) with washer and nuts inside. Rolled out insulation and layed the r panels out.

We use to have two of them that we used, (still here just donít get used) and they would stay warm inside to the point to where if it was 20 outside we have to sleep with a fan on the be comfortable. Nothing fancy but they were nice to sleep in
