Default I have a new goal in life!

http://youtu.be/u2NIZXzCviM

Sitting at home searching the internet I ran across this guy! Iím just wondering what are the chances I could dunk a basketball at the age of 37? Iím also 6í1 but hang around 205 to 215lbs.

On a serious note this guy is amazing! I think Iím going to start by dunking a donut.

Wonder how good he is. I mean 90% of the time he was playing against white kids. Not much of a challenge

Doesn't matter if he is in an empty gym, that's a hell of a skill set.

Dude is playing at Georgetown now. He is only 6'2" and will see if he can channel his inner Allen Iverson. He can play, but doubt he will be a one and done.

Iím 57 now, and 6í tall, and not sure I could dunk one on a 7í goal anymore!!! 🤣🤣🤣

That's impressive gents!! At 47 and 5' 11" I can still touch the rim. I was never able to dunk as I could only reach as far up on the rim to where my thumb connects to the palm of my hand. I was close but we all know close only counts with horse shoes.

As a freshman in college I had a 38Ē vertical at 6í3Ē and 215lbs. It was probably close to 40Ē as a Sr in HS and 180lbs. I could pretty much do any type of dunk out there minus taking off from the free throw line. 360, reverses, throwing off the backboard, etc BUT I just couldnít shoot very good. . Hence playing football in college versus basketball. My last dunk was somewhere around 1999. At 42yrs old, 240lbs and coming off Acl and meniscus transplants last year I donít see it happening again. Ahhh the good old days.

That Kid in the video can ball!!!

Iím going to a gym tomorrow with a basketball goal to see how far away I am.

I bought some Lebronís so Iím thinking I should at least be able to dunk some sort of ball. Iím going to start with a tennis ball and work my way up from there.

I’m going to try to dunk again. Could always dunk pretty easily until my ankle exploded last year. At 37, it’s now or never. Now that my boys are getting into playing, it would be nice to show them that I haven’t always been a gimp!

Yes. I was 5 foot when I tried out for the freshman team. I ended my basketball career as a 5í6 sophomore.

I just measured 10 foot in my house and Iím thinking I should start with touching the backboard

I could never dunk, but I could lay my wrist over the rim. I'm 40, 6'1.5", and can still do the same thing. My hands were also too small. I could put a volleyball through, but not a basketball.
Watching that made me think of Jordon. I grew up during his career, when the whole world was captivated. The dream team, when Jordons first came out, etc... Them were days. I love Tiger but he didn't have shat on Jordon. I grew up extremely religious, no TV or anything, and even the preachers knew who he was .
I can remember sermons, about how kids were choosing athletes as their idols instead of God, and the evils of organized sports . He was one of kind.
That kid got game though, serious game. Got em all scared. You watch some of his fakeouts, and crack up watching those kids trying to guess what he's about do lol.

Ya know, for everyone that wants to, that can't, we should start a TBH dunk contest. We have the biggest loser, how about the first dunker. It would easier for others than some, so I don't know how you could put people into different categories to make it even. Maybe a height/weight ratio?
I kinda wanna say I can dunk a basketball now.

Iíve got tiny hands and used to grab the net to pull myself up to the rim.

Nope. Looks exhausting. The NBA ain't gonna be calling me up any time soon. So my life goal is to never be in a situation where I have to run that hard or jump that high.

Itís still fun to test yourself once in a while. At 26 I could throw a collegiate football 62 yards and have someone catch it. Last year after thanksgiving dinner I could barley make 50 yards after several throws.

At 5í11 as a senior I could dunk pretty good, after I graduated grew to 6í3 and didnít play again until I was 25 or so and could barely dunk one handed. Like many others my hands were too small I could two hand better than one hand in school. Now at 30 I feel like I would embarrass myself.

I'm interested in seeing how he stacks up on the next level. He is going to HAVE to focus on the outside game some. He very obviously just out athleted a lot of those highlights. As the natural ability gap shrinks I'm curious to see how good he is. Also he had a decent point gaurd from what I saw, that can make or break a 3s game.

I'll watch for him this year though fun player to watch and kids got SPRINGS in his shoes

I believe you still can do it. You should have tried it before Thanksgiving dinner. That always makes people less athletic.
