This buck has been challenge for me for some time. I first saw this buck 3 years ago while rifle hunting. he was running does down a mequite flats between the mountains. I let him walk thinking that he would be great the next year. Last year on Nov 5 I had one day off from work so I got up at 2:00am and drove 3 1/2 hours to the lease got in the blind. At 7:00am I shot over his back when he came in w/ doe. I hunted the rest of 2009 for him and never saw him again.
Today about 7:15 mr browtines showed himself again. the hot doe he was w/ came into the feeder where I was set up. He stood about 75 yards north of me just watching her and refusing to come into the feeder. as she left the feeder she walked w/ 5 yards of me and my blind and he could not resist following. I drew back my Z7 and let a FMJ tipped w/ a slick trick go. 30 yard shot broadside. he went down to his front legs, but managed to get up and run about 150 yards. blood trail was good. I barley got him loaded before massive rain system moved in. Better pics will have to wait until it stops raining.
