In that time she did a study of around 200 UNC football and basketball players and found that 60% of them were below an 8th grade reading level, 10% of them were below 3rd grade level, with a couple of basketball players being completely illiterate. She told a story of one of them coming to her and telling her he wanted to learn just enough so he could read about himself in the newspaper.
This doesn’t just go for UNC, it happens everywhere. I don’t care if they’re dumb and the universities don’t care if they’re dumb. Just entertain me and make the schools money.

If you’re referring to Robert Ferguson, he was signed as a safety, but had grade issues and went to Tyler JC. He then transferred back to TAMU. No clue what his GPA was, but he was one hell of a WR. Ironically, his best college game was against OSU.Originally posted by krisw View PostComment

No doubt those kids exist, but there are also kids like Damion Ratley, who couldn't get into college out of high school and went to Blinn before transferring into A&M. Graduated in 2017 with a degree in Architecture and was on the honor roll. They don't give away Architecture degree's and knowing a couple graduates personally I am not sure how a scholarship athlete does both. My friend who graduated with the same degree basically lived in the Architecture building his senior year.Comment
