Default When to put cameras back out?

I have always run cameras 24/7 but this year I decided to pull all of them in hopes of extending the life and avoiding the south Texas heat for a few months. For those that donít run cameras all the time, when do you put them back out typically. I was thinking about mid July.

I just went and put a couple out this past weekend. We needed to head up there to repair a feed pen anyways so I put 2 of the cameras out. I don't have my covert turned on and probably gonna try to wait till end of Aug for that

I also put them back out in August, it can be fun to watch them grow in velvet.

I only have a camera on the protein right now and a couple more on heavily shaded trails. I have a problem with "runaway picture" syndrome in the heat of mid summer. I don't get the rest of them running until September.

I saw three pretty good bucks running together the other day. I was surprised at their growth and I think I “know” who one of them was. It got me pumped up so I’m going to put a few cameras out on Friday.

I run them year round but as you mentioned the sun can be brutal on cameras and batteries so...

Spoiler alert:

In about a week I'll be unveiling my new camera shade. I'll post when it officially available.

We put ours out second weekend in August when we do our work weekend and take up the last day of deer season. This will be year six for our Bushnell trophy cams and year seven for our Reconyx. There are certainly some cool events we miss, shedding antlers and velvet growth. But not having them out in the dead of winter and heat of summer at the very least doubles life expectancy. Shackelford county btw.

Most of mine are done growing by August. The last couple of weeks before September they are hardening up and shed the velvet usually September 1st or so.

Keeping them covered also helps to keep them from condensation buildup on wet mornings. Interested in this

Also helps with low angle sun if not pointed North,
and gives a little "bounce" at night with LED flash.

I set mine out about 3 wks ago on my new lease. Up until last week I had no idea what I had. I've seen several does, Javis, and some nice sized piggies. My cams aren't the top notch stuff, 25 dollar Wally World Tasco cam so I'm not worried about longevity, but so far they've survived temps below 20į to temps above 100į.
