Default Fence Post Bow Blind

Our lease is very hard to set up on. We don't have much thick cover to hide in and even less high tree cover. We have found that the deer tend to change their patterns around popups. So wI have thrown a different set up at them this spring. We have used old fence posts tied to a wire panel to structure a modified log blind. I am using a trampoline net to darken the interior and for shade over the top. I didn't take photos during the build or from the interior. I can add those in the future. I expect this to be a great setup this fall. And now I can't get the photos to load. Hopefully I can get them attached soon.

I guess the photos were to large. I cropped the close up photo and it worked. I think the next 2 will post now.

I think that might work well. It's more natural than a pop up.

This blind will actually fit 3 people inside if you wanted to take kids. We used about 1 1/2 panels. We arched a piece of a panel over the top to hang the netting on to make the shade. It looks great inside.
This build takes:
figure 2 panels 16 ft long(depending on the size of blind you want)
4 t-posts to help support the weight
plenty of tie wire
material to create shade(trampoline netting or similar)

I tried a similar type idea with mesquite limbs zip tied to hogs panels and a pop up inside the panels. Yours looks great!

These are all old fence posts that the land owner has stacked up from taking down old fences. Most of the posts are cedar. Having the large diameter posts helps tremendously. We have now built 2 of them. The idea of being a cross between a pop-up and a natural brush blind or log blind was the goal. Pop-ups are to dang hot in bow season but are sure nice when its cold and windy. We have a few blinds built into old log piles. Those work great but there is a lot of hesitation about using them due to snakes and such.

that looks great, we had the same problems with pop blinds but figured out if you brush them in they don't bother the deer, we had on inside a muskeedine patch, only thing you could see was the shooting holes and man it worked out very well

Not a cedar tree within miles of our place. That would have made building a blind way to easy

Wow that looks great and even looks cow proof! (What do you think?)

Almost looks like you could put a pop up in and then put the posts around it instead of brush, but I bet this method is more temperature friendly in the warm months.
