How to stay Straight with Bull Dozer?!

Has anyone ever used a compass to stay straight when clearing dense brush for a long distance in a bulldozer? What are some other methods you guys use?
    Thanks in Advance!

X2. Survey it, spray down with permethrin, walk it and hang flagging close enough where you can see em and get after it. Had to do it this way many times clearing for oil locations. Did not have gps back then.

Anybody ever use a compass like you would see in a plane or a boat and just get the right heading and go?

Another vote for paint and survey tape.

Looks like I am seeing a pattern here

The landowner on my brother’s lease uses tall pvc poles for aiming points. Now, this is out west where the trees/brush don’t grow very tall. This won’t work very well in east Texas.

put a tire on corner post and light the tire on fire ---drive straight to the smoke

My dad just bought a dozer and my plan is to dozer like I mowed when I was 12 so he will just do it for the next few years. His plan is to put my arse on that thing to do work. After that my younger brother can take over.

They used to cut senderos with a compass heading and a hydro ax

No reason it would not work with a dozer

                            GPS would be my choice

I’ve taped the ends, I just don’t want to walk the 20 or so miles I’m doing in that brush, I’m getting old!
