I started the thread that I'm assuming brought the topic up and used both terms when referring to the thing with a bill you wear on your head. I grew up in Dallas, now live in central Texas and though I understand the difference in the way they are being discussed both terms will always be interchangeable for me.

Now I did grow up playing all the way through college and then coached college and high school ball for 10 years so my world was baseball and there wasn't a cowboy to be found in the middle of north Dallas.
