Moonset Sunrise Mesa Arch - Canyonlands NP December 2013

6:00-9:00 AM - I was early enough to watch the shadow crawl up the arch while the moon set, then 15ish minutes of pitch black before the first hints of grey from the east. 7 more people showed up with cameras, my D90 was the cheapest by far. I felt like a Yugo owner at a drag race. Canon or Nikon, take your pick, they were all NICE. The "graffiti" is a cheap LED keychain light pointed at the camera, 6 second shutter.

It's a pretty piece of America! So glad you caught it in snow!

Billinkb, I took a solo road trip to the 5 national parks in Utah. I took the seats out of my minivan and had a twin mattress and stayed in the parks. I met a lady in Zion that said it was only the third time in over twenty years that the snow lasted for more than a day. Zion, Bryce, Capitol Reef, and finished in Arches and Canyonlands. I stayed in Moab for the last two parks. Utah was stunning, and I will be going back again
