So, I finally completed another bucket list item! On the last weekend of June, we went on a helihog hunt with Helibacon outfitters out of Bryan....
We did our safety check the night before and were up at 6:00 am the next morning. We were on the hogs shortly after the 10 minute flight to the hunting grounds. The first one we saw was a solo boar running across the field. The pilot banked hard to the left and hammered it. We got to him just before the tree line and turned him into the open field where we let the lead fly!! Note: Helihunting is about shot quantity rather than shot quality...
After a short 10 minute refuel stop, we were back on the pigs....we came across a few other sounders and then had to call it a day.
Overall we killed about 30 or so and saw over 50 (hard to count cause you are turning and moving as they break apart in their groups).
I would definitely do it again as it was an awesome experience!!!
I just got the video they made for us but haven't gotten a copy from my buddy yet!
