Alright fellas let’s hear what in your opinion is the nicest hunting ranch in Texas? Things to consider would be accommodations, quality of animals, quality of guides, quality of food, etc? Whatcha got?

Just glancing at the star s i don’t think the accommodations are going to be large enough to handle the group. Just to get an idea of why i am asking, we will be doing a company hunt with a few of our clients. There will be 13 of us and the guys from out of state are really interested in exotics. We have done the AC ranch before and loved it but it is quite the hike. We have also done the SOS ranch and the animals were great but the accommodations were not on the same level as the AC

For that many folks, I'd recommend the Record Buck Ranch. The lodging, food and guides are excellent. You will see tons of animals.

Sure do. They are great people! I met Devin back in 2014 when I did the Antler Staircase in the Lodge. That place is amazing! I have only met Cody a couple times. He was too busy going after critters at the ranch.

Been all over the ranch. Kudu, Buffalo, Fallow, Axis, you name it it's there. The Whitetail are HUGE and some of the greatest looking deer I have seen in person. I don't know what your budget is but it's definitely worth a call and visit if you have a large group of guys. Pics don't do this place justice!

I have not been on many big ranches but if we were talking just simply the free range hunting and hf large exotics. The Canyon Ranch in Sonora is awesome. Lodging is nothing spectacular but the meals are home cooked meals and great! 19K acre ranch. Plenty to do.

Yessir! Here’s one of their “youngsters” that liked to hang out on the fence line last season. I have a lease just across the creek from The Big Easy, lots of very impressive animals.

The original "Champion Ranch" is but Papa Joe and Joel partnered up with another fella and bought the old "Z BAR Ranch" out of Brady and it is now "Champion Ranch II" or something along those lines.. I've spent some time on the original but haven't made it to the new ranch yet.

Have you been to one of their annual dove hunts?

It has to be in South Texas with 180-200" typical bucks.

Well the "La Bandera" is pretty snazzy....
Its a "rich folk" playground though!$!$!$! The Bush's hunt there.
I think it has something like 3 different 5 STAR lodges..

Greystone has exotics as well as Rough Creek Lodge in Glenrose. I have been on a quail hunt for the last 3 years at Rough Creek. Accommodations and food are best I have experienced. Some of the guys I went with hunted exotics. Only seen pics of the animals at Greystone but the game looks to be decent. JL bar is top notch as well.

Guess it's relative to what you like to do. Hard to beat S. Texas especially if you want to hunt and fish. My vote is any one of several private camps on the King 30 miles from Baffin. The IBC camp is incredible with everything from ducks, dove, and 190" low fence deer while surrounded by a 5 star resort quality camp. El Sauz was mentioned and has one of the coolest camps with a fun bunch of guys 4 miles from PM. Fish in the morning while chasing Nilgai in the afternoon is hard to beat. For exotics I would have to agree with others that the Scott's Star S for their diverse terrain, animals, and accommodations.
