    Wounded Warriors Execs Fired !!!!

Wounded Warrior Project aims to empower wounded veterans, but a recent exposé revealed that the charity spent nearly half of its funding empowering its executives instead. The board of directors responded by beginning to clean house, starting at the top.

Wounded Warrior Project Chief Executive Officer Steven Nardizzi and Chief Operating Officer Al Giordano have both been removed from the organization following accusations of misusing money.
However, Nardizzi’s image as the COO was more in line with a venture capitalist than a nonprofit. A former employee told CBS that Nardizzi entered conferences by "[rappelling] down the side of a building. He's come in on a Segway. He's come in on a horse."

Over $26 million was spent on employee conferences in 2014, compared to $1.7 million in 2010. The events were described as being lavish and boozy, such as one annual meeting held in a luxury hotel in Colorado Springs. Five hundred staff members attended the four-day conference that came with a final price tag of $3 million.

    this is not good...

why can't people act decent ?

Not surprised. Have read many negative articles on the organization and how the money was being spent. Profiting off of vets is a horrible act.

I agree. From what I understand it was just a matter of time.

Sadly, Wounded Warriors board of directors were incredibly slow in responding to the mounting criticism over the last 3 or 4 years! This was NOT happening in a vacuum.

Yes, and do you think they walked away with a golden parachute? More money out of the hands of veterans programs. The structure and the vision of the whole leadership team has obviously been tainted. I would like to think that with all the other vet groups out there that actually spend the money where they should, if WWP was completely dissolved that money would go to the others and the net outcome would be a plus for veterans.

The bigger issue here is why we have to have private charity organizations to take care of veterans in the first place. Rampant fraud and abuse in the VA like most federal agencies is the reason. They have the budget ten times over to take care of the vets but its all fraudulently taken so we have to supplement our taxes with our charity. Disgusting and Washington has obviously just accepted a worthless VA as status quo, its been that way for many decades now.

The VA is a disgrace, needs to be imploded and rebuilt from the ground up.

Charities were formed because people figured out they could personally profit from others misfortunes and tugging on the hearts of caring/giving folks. Some non-profits are some of the most profitable organizations. I know not all charities are bad, but many of them are formed so a select few can benefit handsomely.

Back in the day the Church was the place to receive assistance.

agreed; or even when they get a lot of their own.

it is interesting how peoples views change after they come into a lot of money, Glenn Beck comes to mind. he went off the rails a while back, I can't listen to him anymore.

Hannity interviewed the new CEO last night. Sadly nothing has changed. He is as bad as the one that was fired. Refused to answer Hannity's questions and ducked and dodged and spouted off all sorts of BS statistics.

If they don't get it squared away quickly the organization is done. Our SCI chapter got away from them 3 years ago. Lots of groups doing God's work for our wounded veterans without the ...........baggage! !![emoji106]
                          Actually , we co-sponsored 3 on a hunt last weekend!!![emoji3]
