    Thick bases on that one too, and in velvet. Id take him in velvet, but i already have 2 hard horned nice ones on the wall.

      I'm sure there are some subject matter experts that will argue but generally caudal tine length and a well pronounced throat patch if not a double throat patch dictate a mature axis buck. Additionally as with many animals a muscular and defined neck are a pretty good giveaway to a "shooter buck". I don't really see these traits in any of these except for the blurry picture not from the OP. Just my opinion but the Texas HC has surpassed the 30" standard for axis bucks. Pretty common in most parts that aren't over hunted. Good luck OP
