    Frosty Berseem Clover

    Been reading good things about Frosty Berseem Clover for fall food plots. Anyone use it in the East Texas area?

    I've read some things about frosty berseem but not sure how it differs from regular berseem ? Marketing? I routinely use 'regular' berseem here in central La. and like it very much.

      I think the "frosty" moniker designates it for use in the north. From what I've read the regular berseem doesn't survive their winters very well, but will be ok for use in the southern states. No first hand experience, but I've been reading up on it just lately also. I'm trying to decide what to plant in a one acre plot that I've historically planted in peas for spring and wheat for fall. Either gonna be ladino and chicory or berseem, or a combination of those.

        Apparently “Frosty” indicates better winter survival but not just for northern states. It was tested at Mississippi State and survived their winters better than regular Berseem Clover.
        It is a clover that develops quickly so it is actually a good early season as well late season source of food.
