Default New grinder - first knife

Well it's sort of a knife. Maybe it's a pig sticker. Anyway I wanted to give this new belt grinder a hard test to see if it will hold up to hard work. It's a Reeder RPS250 made in Dallas. So far it makes a lot of sparks.
Still a long ways to go but I got most all the hammer marks ground out and a pretty smooth edge profile. It's 5160 steel so it should be tough enough. I need some ideas on what sort of handle and guard to put on it. I have a 3/4" piece of mild steel round bar that I could forge something from.
