I often have this shot presented to me and I have never taken it. In my mind, the deer would respond by spinning away from the arrow resulting in a skin slice or even a glance through the ribs and out the brisket, if it gets that far.
Would you take this shot and if so, where would you aim? 8-10 yards. |

Unless you're shooting a Matthews....that deer is dead at 10 yards on your blue dot.

Blue dot at 10 yds is a dead deer every time.

Aim for the off shoulder and let it fly. The very best shot you can take.

Right between the two is where I normally try to send it. They die really fast.

Mathews is the only thing that could kill it, sling two arrows at a time take both dots out

Focus where the arrow will exit, not where it enters. IMHO any of the three dots will kill at 8-10 yds.

8-10 yards? Blue dot will work. So will red . Its the shot I'd take(a little bit larger margin of error with this shot). Stay away from the yellow!

I like the red dot up above. I would take that shot all day long. In your mind you should aim to break the offside leg.

Itll kill but I prefer less angle. The target size for both lungs is smaller than ideal.

I’m not Mathews guy but the best hunting bow on the market last two years is a Mathews. I shoot other brands but it doesn’t matter what bow an accurate shot and sharp broad head goes a long way
