Default 32 Remington

Broke out the Remington model 14 with thumbnail safety this afternoon. Built in 1914 and still punching holes!

We don't need no stinking vortex!

Nice rifle.

Does it have a brass shield showing the caliber on the other side of the receiver?

Was that barrel cut or did it come like that from the factory?

Yes it does on the brass shell.

Its a factory carbine with the shorter barrel. They are semi rare. If the pic was better you could see the front sight base milled in to the barrel. Also, it has the straight grip stock. Not all carbines had this but as far as I know, no standard rifles came that way.

Very nice looking rifle there. Itís good to get them out & let them bark from time to time.
