Default New shop build.

All the materials were delivered Thursday the builder will start on it Monday. It will be a 30x40x12 with two 10x10 roll up doors and one walk through door. Pretty excited been wanting a shop for years now.

Can't wait to watch this one go up. Put my deposit down yesterday on a building.

Who'd you get the building from?

Yes they built the whole thing in one day. Everything but concrete. Concrete will be poured in a couple days. They got here at 10:30 and just left.

Default New shop build.

Why do some builders do wood framing instead of steel?

Is there a significant cost savings?

Big cost savings using wood over red iron. Im under 20k including the concrete. Only thing you have to do is your dirt work they donít do that.

you got a heck of a deal. Contacted them about a 20X30 14' tall with a 15' overhang on the longer side. Roll up door on each end and one walk through door, and they priced me $19,000.

Might consider stubbing in some 2Ē pvc conduit for the electrical before the concrete pour. I try to avoid any conduits running up the outside of a building. The weed eater is tough on them.

My concrete guy had me water my concrete several times a day for a few days to slow down the curing.

Definitely somewhat cheaper (maybe not in the long run). Ceiling will be much lower on the same sidewall though.
