the only 2x4's were used on the base of the blind, the frame work is made from 2x4's that i cut in half to help save on cost.

I was thinking this too. I bet over the long run the cost of painting these things over and over again will be more than it would have cost to use LP Smart Siding right from the get go and not have to worry about rot.
