Default Party porch

Well my father in law retire from TXDOT this week so we put him right to work haha. We have had this planned for a while now but havenít had time to knock it out. We had to tear the old porch off because of water damage due to the tin not being tied into the house roof properly causing the decking to sustain water damage. We had the roof replaced a while back and now we are adding approximately 700 sq ft of porch and it will all be one structure but we are not tying it back into the house. We got the last standing structure tore down and got the weld plates installed. Yes I know where some of the columns will be they will not line up but we had to do some crazy engineering due to where the back door is and several other factors. Bear with me as this is not going to be a one weekend project but will update as soon as we get things done.Name: IMG_2815.jpg

It is actually all 11 gauge, but we are using rectangular tubing instead of c purlins to keep the birds from nesting under it. I was not interested in sheeting the underside lol

There is a way to screw the whole thing together using the tubing. I did it on my balcony because it would be too much trouble to get a machine close enough. I can send you pictures if you want. It really makes it go fast.

Put some base angle up for the trim yesterday, this wind is cramping our style. Need to weld just a few more things up but 15-20 mph winds shut us down when we have to weld over the house roof.Name: 54463959060__1B8F628C-2B3B-4DAD-8A0C-A244EC4AA037.jpg

Wind is finally going to be calm in the morning so the rest of the welding will be done first thing, followed up with painting...I despise painting. Wind is supposed to be fairy calm this coming weekend so it should be done by the end of the week, except for all of the projects under roof I have planned

Good luck with the wind though! I wouldn't trust the weatherman's forecast... They have the only job where you can be wrong everyday of the week, but still have a job next week lol. I'm SOOOO ready for this wind to die down

Anywho, sorry I havenít updated with pics, it has been dark every day by the time I get home. Got everything welded up the other day and started package painting. Father in law started putting up trim and skirts. Painting and trim will be done tomorrow and then sheets should get done Friday
