New to the party, and looks great. A little Jealous as that boat would do perfect on the lake for some sandbass chasing. In for the following now.

Santa brought me a new fuel tank! Last major purchase I have to make is steering and a battery. I got the bow stop for the trailer moved to its new location and bolted down. Trailer is 99.9% done for now.
Next up is to complete the center console overhaul. |

Thanks for all the help!!!! Looks like I will be carpeting the bunks.
It's cold and raining outside today so no visiable progress will be made today.....but I did order the last of the needed top coat and my steering system. |

It was cold today!!! Too cold for paint or glass work so....got the entire topside rough sanded. Now I'm at a stand still until it's warm enough to do patch work.

Made a very temporary trailer now stop. I needed to secure the boat a little better. The bottom paint is so slick that the boat slides all over the trailer while working on it or dragging it around in the yard. I Also got the first round of topside hole filling done. Up next......more sanding.

Leave the hull like that with nothing on it slap a tiller handle motor on it and a cooler running length ways in the middle and call it good less is more on those little rigs. I have always wanted a little scooter like that kicking around the idea of building me a aluminum one.

Derrick if you don't like the carpet or when it starts to tear let me know. I have a couple rolls of fire hose in my shed. Works great. Also good for making bumpers or putting on pilings at the dock to protect your boat. We just stuff a pool noodle in and lag bolt the ends to the piling.

The slick boards would have been okay. I've had Teflon strips on my last 3 boats with no issues other than they slide off of the trailer really fast

I then took a rag, knife blade and some acetone and cleaned it as best I could. The oval drain hole was a challenge. I took cardboard, rolled it up and stuffed a rag in it in. Then mixed up some "peanut butter". A thick resin mixture that is full of tiny pieces of cut up glass cloth. The mixture was then worked into the break with a Knife blade. 2 boards were wrapped in wax paper to keep them from being glassed to the boat. 2 clamps were applied in hopes of restoring the hull to its proper shape.
Never made a repair like this so maybe it will come out alright!!!! ![]() Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

This brings back some goooood memories for me, so I'm in.
Before he died my dad and I, at my request, took an old rear-steer riverboat and rebuilt it into a flats flyfishing boat. Never got to see it in the water.. |

Knocked out a little on the console too. I'm patching the old speaker holes. Lots of not so fun work....

![]() ![]() Wax paper worked!!!! All the excess that squeezed out of the crack was on top. I hit it with a grinder then a sander. I have a heat lamp on it now. I need to warm the hull up to add the epoxy filler. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

I'm able to devote 100% of my very limited free time to this rig. Top coat for the other boat was ordered and a got an email a week later. It was backordered and they added an additional 2 weeks. So that order got canceled and we found another source. Until that order arrives I can only work on one boat.

![]() ![]() Topside is primed! The back drain hole is complete too. The glass repair is unnoticeable and I had to reshape the oval hole with a quarter round file. I think it came out really well. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

Thanks!!!
Look close and you can see a bunch of circles. The primer is thick and designed to fill in ugly spots. The circled area are spots in not happy with and will get additional epoxy filler added. I got another layer of glass on the old speaker holes on the console too. Tomorrow is another Arctic blast and a chance of snow...then I'm headed outa state so this is the last of it for a few weeks. ![]() Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

I have a day off and it's raining.....go figure. I did get a little done early this am. Made the last patch on the inside of the console. It's in the bottom left of the picture. It was a hole for the control cables to pass through. It's in a tough spot and going to be a real pita to to patch up.
![]() Temps have been a huge issue. I've been using a thermometer and have been very strict about working within the required temp range. The thermometer has allowed me to get more done by using heat lamps as well. Otherwise there would be even less work getting done. ![]() Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |
