Default Pig Knife; New Design

I've been working on this design for the last few weeks; after turning down $1,000.00 for the last pig hunter with Sanbar Stag handle, Alabama Damascus Steel (it was more of a show knife) I decided to make one designed specially for the pig hunter made to get bloody.
It's 52100 ball bearing steel 3/16ths thick 60 H.C. blued to help in rust prevention. OAL is 13 inches, tip to brass guard is 8". I wanted a handle that was not going to be slippery so I made the burlap micarta handle myself. The guard is big enough to prevent hand from slipping on to the blade. The sheath is thick 12oz oil tanned water buffalo. It should make one heck of a pig killing machine.

My BIL tinkered in making knives and being a hog hunter he made several pig stickers. He started using stall mat material for the handles. Super grippy when the blood gets to flowing.

Nice knive you have their too!

When designing it, the handle was something I that concerned me. The reason I made the burlap micarta myself and sanded it only to 80 grit. It's not about being pretty it's about not slipping in a bloody hand.

Incredible; that's the reason I use it, I can buy any steel I want. If I don't use Alabama Damascus my go to steel is 52100. I haven't have one complaint the last twenty years. I've sold a lot of knives to people on this forum.
Now let me take it a step further, the steel is a as good as the maker. Every steel requires different methods to get the best out of that particular steel for the specific purpose it was designed for.
