Default Opening Day Wide 7pt

I had some good luck on Opening Day a couple years ago. I'll never forget watching this buck walk in from 200 yards out. What a great hunt! A perfect management buck!

Man I love that heart shot. He didn't know what hit him!

Actually, watching it again, looks like you must have hit a main artery coming from the heart. Shot was too far forward for the actual heart. I hit a deer at the same angle, but maybe 2 inches higher than where you did this year, and he survived. Awesome footage!

Broadhead was a Rocket Sidewinder with the Hammerhead blades.

I've shot a couple in the heart but they didn't go down. What do you attribute that to?

Impressive.
You can't argue with the results and I'm not being critical I really want to know for my own experience but wouldn't the higher percentage shot be more like this?

Yes, I would aim slightly under your X and probably did. No one said it was a perfect shot. In fact I was quite unhappy with it. Things happen when you're shooting big bucks and packed into a blind with 2 people and camera equipment. It's just one of those times where I got a little lucky.
